I have talked to the cable company twice and I've been assured that the modem does no routing at all and it is in bridge mode with no blocking (same modem I had with the old Netgear router which the port forwarding worked). There is no way I could possibly post everything I have tried, so basically I'm asking if someone would be willing to walk me through to see if there's something I'm missing or something I need to change to get these ports open. We raise dogs and I need to buyers to have access to the cameras to watch their puppies growing. I also have a no-ip account for ddns (which is another issue because unlike the old router, this one only allows one hostname). The cameras are what I need the ports forwarded for. No complicated network, just an Arris TM822G modem from the cable company, then a Netgear Nighthwk R7000 router, that's it except for the wireless devices connected to the router (pc, laptop, 2 cell phones, printer and 2 IP cameras). I was able to do it on my old Netgear router with no problem, and nothing else has changed except the router. I have tried for 2 months (literally) to get this thing to port forward and I'm ready to take a hammer to it. I know it's not the safest/securest thing to do, but it works for what I need, which is to forward 2 ports on my router. If anyone out there has the time and patience to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
